We are now on Facebook

by admin on September 1, 2009

facebook

In an attempt to maximise our reach as a business, we have created a business Facebook page where our clients and potential clients can interact with us. The Facebook page will complement our CEO’s Twitter page (www.twitter.com/iforg).

You can easily access the page by visiting: www.iforg.com/facebook. We plan to host debates and discussion about topics we are aiming to research and/or blog about.

We will (in future) be using this page as a project recruitment tool. So there are number of good reasons to become a fan of this group.

Webmaster,

Project: Cornwall [Status: Active]

by admin on August 31, 2009

Starting a project that focuses solely on the support for and recruitment of Pharmacy Technician and support staff has always been at the back of our mind at Iforg Limited. Especially since we conceived the idea of bookapharmacist.com (Hampshire Project). Kate Penhaligon, a former project facilitator and podcaster general, for Iforg Limited had the distinct pleasure of the naming this project Cornwall whilst with us. Kate, a pharmacy technician, hailed from that part of the UK.

We have received a number of interests from pharmacy technicians and we just couldn’t put this project off any longer. So today the 31st of August 2009, we have decided to launch this project. This is project: Cornwall (a sister project to project Hampshire from the Iforg Limited stable). The two projects will share a similar motto: nil volentibus arduum (Nothing is impossible for the willing).

This is a locum agency with a twist for Pharmacy Technicians and support staffs. The twist is in the level of unparalleled support we will offer to those who come along with us. This time we will be deploying cloud computing technologies as provided by Microsoft.

It makes sense to start this project now so that we can take along with us technicians and support staff who are passionate enough to want to come along with us.

The home of the project will be www.pharmacytech.co.uk and www.pharmacydispensers.co.uk OR on our project wiki (click here)

County {Cornwall}: Resources

by admin on August 31, 2009

Map of Cornwall from: http://www.visitcornwall.com/

Cornwall is a county of England in the United Kingdom, forming the tip of the south-western peninsula of Great Britain. It is bordered to the north and west by the Atlantic Ocean, to the south by the English Channel, and to the east by the county of Devon, over the River Tamar. Taken with the Isles of Scilly Cornwall has a population of 531,600, and covers an area of 3,563 km2 (1,376 sq mi). The administrative centre and only city is Truro.

The area now known as Cornwall was first inhabited by Neolithic and then Bronze Age peoples, and later (in the Iron Age) by Celts. Cornwall is part of the Brythonic (Celtic) area of Britain, separated from Wales after the Battle of Deorham, often coming into conflict with the expanding English kingdom of Wessex before King Athelstan in 936 A.D. set the boundary between English and Cornish people at the Tamar. Today, Cornwall’s economy struggles after the decline of the mining and fishing industries, and has become more dependent on tourism: however some decline in this has also occurred. The area is noted for its wild moorland landscapes, its extensive and varied coastline and its mild climate.

Cornwall is the homeland of the Cornish people and diaspora, and is recognised as one of the “Celtic nations” by many residents and organisations. It continues to retain its distinct identity, with its own history, language and culture. Some inhabitants question the present constitutional status of Cornwall, and a self-government movement seeks greater autonomy within the UK.

County {Hampshire}: Resources

by admin on August 30, 2009

Map Source(http://www.visit-hampshire.co.uk/)

Hampshire, sometimes historically Southamptonshire, Hamptonshire, (abbr. Hants), or the County of Southampton, is a county on the south coast of England. The county borders (clockwise from West), Dorset, Wiltshire, Berkshire, Surrey and West Sussex. The county has an area of 1,455 square miles (3,769 km²) and at its widest points is approximately 55 miles (90 km) east–west and 40 miles (65 km) north–south. The county town is Winchester situated at 51°03′35″N 1°18′36″W / 51.05972°N 1.31°W / 51.05972; -1.31. The 2001 census gave the population of the administrative county as 1.24 million; the ceremonial county also includes the cities of Portsmouth and Southampton, which are administratively independent, and has a total population of 1.6 million. Christchurch and Bournemouth, within the historic borders of the county, were made part of the non-metropolitan county of Dorset in 1974.

On the 10/05/09, I ran 10K to raise money for sickle cell society, a charity close to my heart. Of 880 runners, 764 completed the race. I was number 362 finisher and I ran the race in 54.02 minutes.

I am quite proud of this time as I am no athlete. That time represented my best time: better than the time I was able to achieve in the limited and sporadic training prior to the race.

I have raised £485.60 so far which is 5% of my target. I am determined to reach the financial target. In a bid to re-double my attempt to move closer to my target, I have enrolled on the great south run on the 25th of October 2009 (It is 10 miles this time – so I have to train harder!). That is about 9 weeks away. So starting from next, I will start intense training for the race. I will tweet my training progress. I hope to at least equal or better my previous time.

If you wish to support me, please go to http://www.justgiving.com/kazeem. I will be very grateful for any support.

About Sickle Cell Disease (SCD):

Sickle Cell Disease is a hereditary condition affecting red blood cells. The different kinds of SCD and the different traits are found mainly in people whose families come from Africa, the Caribbean, the Eastern Mediterranean, Middle East and Asia.* In Britain SCD is most common in people of African and Caribbean descent (at least 1 in 10-40 have sickle cell trait and 1 in 60-200 have SCD). It is estimated there are over 6,000 adults and children with SCD in Britain at present. There are other inherited conditions that mainly affect other groups, e.g. Cystic Fibrosis in Europeans, and Tay-Sachs disease in Jewish people. You can find more about it by visiting the Sickle Cell Society website: http://www.sicklecellsociety.org/
